Monday Has Come And Gone Before

Monday Has Come And Gone Before

Monday Has Come And Gone BeforeĀ explores the repetitive cycles of office work, commuting, and city living. Taken over a period of six years, whilst I was working in various admin jobs, the photographs are presented as a series of fragmented Mondays. Exteriors of the day are documented through a bored gaze, drifting from the screen, moments of longing and tired disorientation. At other times these images are blurred, surreal and tinged with melancholy, reflecting on the potential for the daily tasks of work to shape our circadian existence beyond the workplace and enter the dreamscapes of sleep.Ā

Through a personal critical lens the photographs inĀ Monday Has Come And Gone BeforeĀ scrutinise the complex dynamics of office work, where individuals navigate the incessant demands of productivity and their own identity. The city appears as a recurring background throughout the book, caught in a perpetual process of regeneration, a nondescript urban space, homogenous in its response to the evolving demands of capitalism. Each image inĀ Monday Has Come And Gone BeforeĀ serves as a testament to the transient nature of time and the profound impact of capitalism on the urban environment.Ā
